Cuban-Americans Rally In Support For Trump In Miami & Protest Bernie Sanders & Castro

On Saturday, caravans of Cuban-Americans rallied in support for President Donald Trump in Miami, Florida with flags and painted slogans on their vehicles.

This comes after Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) defended Cuban dictator Fidel Castro’s literacy program on a CBS “60 Minutes” interview last week. Sanders had told Anderson Cooper that “it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad” in Cuba, under the authoritarian rule of Castro.

“We’re very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba, but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad,” Senator Bernie Sanders told Anderson Cooper, defending Fidel Castro.

“You know, when Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?” he added.

Photos and videos emerged on Twitter featuring vehicles flying Cuban and American flags along with Trump 2020 flags showing their support of President Donald Trump.

Some vehicles had painted slogans that read: “Vote for Trump,” “No Communism,” “Viva Trump,” “Free Cuba, “Cambio es ya” (change is now) and “Abajo La Dictadura” (down with dictatorships). (Continued Below)

Miami Herald wrote an article titled: Wondering what that excessive honking was in Coral Gables, Miami and Brickell? It’s about Trump.

An organized caravan of cars was blasting horns, waving flags and shouting through megaphones letting the world know about their support for President Donald Trump, reported Miami Herald.

Beatrice Ponce, who has lived in Miami-Dade for about 25 years, said she was driving through Brickell when she saw the caravan. She said it stopped traffic for about 50 minutes as all the cars drove through. She was happy to see such support, as per Miami Herald. (Video Below)

“I think this is something that needs to be addressed. In the last few years, we’ve seen liberals being able to speak and conservatives being silenced,” Ponce said.

She said those participating in the caravan were mostly young.

“What surprised me the most was to see young people doing this,” Ponce said. “I was very happy to see kids fighting and saying they do not want communism in the U.S,” reported Miami Herald.
