The White House coronavirus response coordinator said Sunday that when it comes to procuring medical equipment for the coronavirus pandemic, the federal government is urging other states to emulate New York.
“We are asking every single governor and every single mayor to prepare like New York is preparing now,“ Dr. Deborah Birx said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
She was answering a question from host Chuck Todd as to whether the federal government was going to take over the procurement and distribution of medical equipment to deal with the crisis. Her answer focused on state and local governments, urging them to be informed and flexibility.
