White House adviser Hassett: ‘It’s scary to go to work’

„There are a lot of things you can’t do except there. Like if you’re going to have secure communications, you need to be in the Situation Room,“ he explained. Medical personnel have been very careful with testing for the coronavirus in the White House, he said.

Three top-ranking health officials are self-quarantined following potential exposure in the White house. CDC Director Robert Redfield and Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious disease expert, on Saturday disclosed plans to isolate after „low-risk“ contact with an infected person. On Friday, Federal Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn began a two-week self-quarantine after coming in contact with Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary, Katie Miller, who has tested positive for Covid-19.

Hassett, who chaired the White House Council of Economic Advisers from 2017 to June 2019, returned to White House a month ago as a temporary unpaid adviser to work on Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
