Company Tied to Whistleblower’s Lawyers Actively Advertised Seeking Whistleblowers

Sunday, Whistleblower lawyer Mark S. Zaid confirmed he is representing a second whistleblower who claims to have first-hand knowledge of the Trump-Ukraine call events.

According to a new report from Breitbart, Zaid was one of the founders of “Whistleblower Aid,” a small not profit that proactively advertised in D.C. seeking whistleblowers.

Breitbart reports Whistleblower aid “blasted advertisements around D.C. actively seeking whistleblowers during the Trump administration.”

Upon its founding, Whistleblower Aid actively sought to attract the attention of Trump administration government employees by reportedly blasting advertisements for its whistleblower services on Metro trains, using mobile billboards that circled government offices for 10 hours a day, and handing out whistles on street corners as a gimmick to gain attention.

When Whistleblower Aid was first formed, the main banner for the mission statement of its website contained clearly anti-Trump language.

According to their website, Zaid is a “founding legal partner” and Andrew Bakaj is “of counsel.”

The organization has apparently raised over $200k for the whistleblower via a Gofundme.

The GoFundMe explains the role of Bakaj and Zaid.

The whistleblowers’ legal counsel–Andrew Bakaj and Mark Zaid of Compass Rose Legal Group–are also core members of Whistleblower Aid’s team. They have helped to build this organization from scratch. It’s important that people know a bit about them.

Andrew Bakaj is Of Counsel to Whistleblower Aid. He’s modest–but actually amazing. While Andrew was himself in government, he literally wrote the CIA and Pentagon rules prohibiting retaliation against whistleblowers. Then, after cooperating with an official investigation into CIA misconduct, he was subject to illegal reprisals and forced out of his job–in violation of the rules that he had written himself! Whistleblower Aid recently won a great victory in Andrew’s case; you can read about it here .

Mark Zaid is Whistleblower Aid’s Founding Legal Partner. For over 25 years, Mark has represented federal workers in cases involving classified information, including whistleblowing, criminal prosecutions, and security clearance disputes. The National Law Journal once wrote, “if Agent Mulder ever needed a lawyer, Zaid would be his man.”
