A new CNN survey indicates that US voters remain opposed to government-funded health care for illegal aliens, with around 59% of those polled voicing their opposition, while only 38% approved of the idea.
Interestingly, all of the major Democrat candidates seeking the party’s nomination to oppose President Trump in the upcoming election recently showed their support of providing health care for illegals.
With the 2020 election drawing ever nearer, the issue of illegal migration, including benefits and health care for those in the country illegally, remains a prominent issue for American voters, and remains a major hurdle for Democrats.

A majority of Americans said they oppose granting government-backed health care to illegal immigrants, according to a new survey released by CNN on Monday.
According to the poll, 59 percent said the oppose giving government-run health care to undocumented immigrants. Just 38 percent said they support that practice, and 3 percent had no opinion.
This exact question was posed to the Democrats running for president during Thursday night’s debate in Miami. And despite the fact that the majority of Americans oppose the practice, every single Democrat on stage said they supported providing government-backed health care to illegal immigrants:
All 10 of the Democratic candidates on the second night of the debate raised their hands to say they supported giving healthcare to illegal immigrants. The debate included Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Kamala Harris, and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Montana Gov. Steve Bullock was the only candidate running who said publicly that he opposed giving government healthcare to illegal immigrants.
Similarly, just 37 percent of respondents said they supported completely abolishing private health insurance, while 57 percent said they opposed the measure.
The topic of abolishing private health insurance has become a recurring one thanks in large part to Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) Medicare for All proposal, which would move all private health coverage to a government-run model.
Debate moderators raised the question about abolishing private health insurance during Wednesday night’s debate, and only Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-NY) said they supported that extreme measure that night. But other candidates, including Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) have previously stated they support eliminating private health insurance.
