Thursday on ABC’s “The View”, the ladies discussed the topic of states that are getting ready to reopen amid the novel coronavirus pandemic and how they felt about it.
Co-host Joy Behar, however, declared that she going to “have to stay put at least until November when [President] Trump is out of office” to keep herself safe.
Whoopie Goldberg made the argument that a lot of people “don’t seem to be ready to step outside yet, according to a survey”, adding: “40 % say they plan to avoid public spaces as much as possible until long after everything is over. But I don’t think you could actually do it like that.”
Goldberg didn’t name the source she cited, though she could have been referring to an article titled: “Lifetime Lockdown? 40% Of Americans Will Avoid Public Spaces Long After Coronavirus Pandemic Ends” from StudyFinds.org. The survey was conducted by Vital Vio, and they asked 1,000 U.S. adults.
“Joy, how long are you prepared to stay put?” Goldberg asked Behar.
“I’m prepared– I think I’m gonna have to stay put at least until November when [President] Trump is out of office because he is not putting the tests out there,” Behar claimed. Continued Below
Behar quoted a line from President Trump where he had said Wednesday: “The media likes to say we have the most [coronavirus] cases, but we do, by far, the most testing. If we did very little testing, we wouldn’t have the most cases. So, in a way, by doing all of this testing, we make ourselves look bad.”
“The reason we’re not getting all these testings is because the numbers go up when you test people, and that makes him look bad,” Behar suggested.
“So this is the problem, and until everybody gets tested, or certainly people that I’m going to be visiting, or places that I’m going to go to, I am not leaving this house,” Behar added. Video Below
