Journalism might be known as the first-draft of history, but leave it to Twitter to disrupt even that old adage.

Years from now, tweets — for better or worse — might be the initial record referenced by future presidents, lawmakers, lawyers, and maybe even school children, to understand what happened to Donald Trump in 2020 during just the third presidential impeachment trial in the country’s history.
