States are competing against one another for medical supplies and, in many cases, overpaying amid a federal shortage, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said Sunday.
“We’re competing against each other, we’re competing against other countries,“ Pritzker said on “State of the Union” on CNN.
“It‘s a wide, wild west … out there. And indeed we’re overpaying, I would say, for [personal protective equipment] because of that competition.“
